Following this, remarks were delivered by the Chief Assessor, Prof. Dr. Made Sudarma, S.E., M.M., Ak., CPA. He began by introducing BAN-PT and explaining the criteria, requirements, and categories of evaluation in the accreditation process. He emphasized that the field assessment serves as a platform to identify both the strengths and weaknesses of the institution, enabling constructive evaluation that leads to positive transformation.

As the sole national accreditation body in Indonesia, BAN-PT plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of higher education. The institution provides recognition for academic programs and universities that meet established standards, ensuring that students receive education aligned with national and global benchmarks. Accreditation by BAN-PT not only guarantees accountability and credibility but also fosters competitiveness among higher education institutions. The field assessment itself is a crucial stage in the accreditation process. It involves direct observation and evaluation by BAN-PT assessors to verify the data submitted by the institution, while also assessing the implementation of academic and non-academic programs. This stage allows assessors to engage in dialogues with university leaders, faculty members, students, and stakeholders, thereby ensuring that the assessment reflects the institution’s actual condition.

Through this comprehensive process, accreditation aims to encourage continuous quality improvement within higher education institutions. It motivates universities and institutes like IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram to uphold high standards in teaching, research, and community service. Ultimately, the accreditation process seeks to assure the public that graduates are well-prepared, competent, and capable of contributing positively to society. The opening ceremony concluded with a group photo session, followed by the commencement of the assessment process led by the BAN-PT assessors.
