Mataram, June 5, 2025 – The Undergraduate Program in Hindu Religious Law at Institut Agama Hindu Negeri (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram recently underwent a three-day field assessment by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Held from June 3 to June 5, 2025, the evaluation served as an essential step in assessing the program’s academic and institutional quality, ensuring its compliance with national accreditation standards.

The accreditation process plays a vital role in maintaining academic excellence, institutional integrity, and professional competency among graduates. As part of the external evaluation, the assessment team from BAN-PT, alongside experts from the Directorate General of Hindu Community Guidance at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, conducted a thorough review of the program’s facilities, academic resources, and overall institutional framework.

Leading the assessment were two distinguished experts in higher education accreditation, Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. I Made Londen Batan, M.Eng, and Prof. Dr. Hesti Sadtyadi, M.Si. Both assessors bring extensive experience in academic evaluation, offering valuable insights to ensure that Hindu religious law education at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram continues to meet rigorous national standards. Their review encompassed direct inspections of campus facilities, interviews with university leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders who employ graduates from the program. Additionally, they verified submitted data and documents through the online accreditation system, ensuring consistency between institutional records and practical implementation.

One of the notable aspects of the assessment was the institution’s preparedness and dedication to academic excellence. The structured and interactive nature of the evaluation allowed for meaningful discussions between the accreditation team and university representatives, demonstrating IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram’s proactive approach toward continuous improvement in Hindu religious studies.

Beyond the technical assessment, the faculty of Hindu Religious Law showcased its commitment to addressing contemporary challenges in higher education. This includes efforts to integrate Hindu legal principles into broader legal studies, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensure graduates possess the analytical skills and critical thinking necessary to navigate complex legal and religious frameworks.

The results of this accreditation process are expected to strengthen IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram’s reputation as a leading institution for Hindu-based higher education. A positive accreditation outcome will provide the university with opportunities to expand research initiatives, refine curriculum standards, and forge deeper collaborations with academic institutions at the national and international levels.

This process reaffirms IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram’s vision of producing graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also equipped with the skills and ethical grounding necessary for advancing Hindu religious education and legal scholarship in Indonesia. As the institution moves forward, it looks toward a future of academic growth, strengthened institutional ties, and continued contributions to the nation’s higher education landscape.
