
Jakarta, May 26, 2025 – In an official ceremony held in Jakarta on Monday, May 26, 2025, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, A.Ma., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd. was formally reappointed as the Rector of Institut Agama Hindu Negeri (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram for the 2025-2029 term. His continued leadership underscores his dedication to academic progress and institutional development, reaffirming his commitment to enhancing higher education, particularly within Hindu studies.
Prof. Wirata, born on May 5, 1966, in Lombok Barat, has a distinguished academic background that has shaped his approach to leadership. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Universitas Mataram in 1992 and pursued his master’s studies at Universitas Udayana, completing them in 2005. His academic journey continued at the same institution, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies in 2010. His expertise and contributions to academia led him to attain the title of professor, also at Universitas Udayana, solidifying his reputation as a scholar dedicated to cultural and educational advancement.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, academic figures, and representatives from Hindu organizations, all of whom recognized the significance of his leadership in shaping the future of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram.
