The Department of Dharma Sastra, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, successfully organized an International Seminar on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the 3rd Floor Meeting Hall of the Rectorate Building. The seminar was conducted under the theme “Digital Culture and Social Well-being: Anthropological Insights in the Age of AI and Hyperconnectivity,” addressing contemporary issues related to artificial intelligence, digital culture, and their implications for society.








The seminar was attended by 150 participants consisting of institutional leaders, lecturers, and students of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, as well as leaders of Hindu organizations in West Nusa Tenggara Province, community figures, and religious leaders. The activity was chaired by I Gusti Agung Andriani, S.H., M.H. as the Head of the Organizing Committee and officially opened by the Vice Rector I of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Dr. Joko Prayitno, S.Ag.,S.T.,M.Pd.H., representing the Rector.

The seminar featured two distinguished speakers. The first speaker, Mr. Dong-Joo Kim, Professor of Social Policy and Medical Research at Saekyeong University, Republic of Korea, presented an international perspective on social policy, quality of life, and the challenges of digital transformation. The second speaker, Dr. Ni Luh Sinar Ayu Ratna Dewi, S.S., M.Ag., a lecturer at IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram and Chair of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), delivered an anthropological and cultural analysis of digital culture and artificial intelligence in the Indonesian context. The seminar was moderated by Dewi Kusumasanthi, who facilitated the discussion and ensured productive academic interaction between the speakers and participants. The panel session emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue in understanding the social, cultural, and ethical dimensions of technological advancement.


In addition to enriching academic insight, the seminar served as a strategic forum for strengthening international academic engagement and fostering critical awareness among students and scholars. The discussions highlighted the need to integrate technological innovation with humanistic values, local wisdom, and social responsibility in order to promote sustainable social well-being in the digital era.

Through this international seminar, the Department of Dharma Sastra, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening academic discourse, expanding global collaboration, and contributing to the development of ethical, inclusive, and culturally grounded responses to the rapid growth of digital technology and artificial intelligence.
