Mataram — As part of the sacred observance of Siwaratri, the Institut Agama Hindu Negeri (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram successfully conducted the Punia Bhakti Rsi Yadnya ceremony on Thursday, January 15, 2026. The religious and social activity reflects the institution’s commitment to integrating spiritual values with national and global development agendas, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 and the Asta Protas of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The activity involved campus leaders, lecturers, and administrative staff of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, demonstrating collective devotion and institutional solidarity. The program was chaired by the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Dr. Ni Luh Sinar Ayu Ratna Dewi, S.S., M.Ag., who emphasized that Punia Bhakti Rsi Yadnya is not merely a ceremonial practice, but a concrete manifestation of dharma-based service within the framework of higher education’s Tri Dharma.

Through this occasion, punia (devotional donations) were respectfully presented to several revered Hindu spiritual leaders, namely Pedanda Dwija Putra of Griya Suranadi, Pedanda Puja Manuaba of Griya Gunung Sari, Pedanda Kertha Arsa of Griya Pagesangan, Pedanda Kelingan of Griya Pagesangan, Pedanda Gde Nirarsa of Griya Pagesangan, as well as the Campus Temple Priest of Pura Saraswati IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Ida Bagus Rai. This act symbolizes deep reverence toward Rsi Yadnya as a moral and spiritual foundation for academic life.

In his remarks, the Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, A.Ma., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., conveyed his appreciation for the meaningful implementation of the activity. He stated that Punia Bhakti Rsi Yadnya serves as a reminder that higher education institutions, especially religious-based universities, must remain rooted in spiritual consciousness while actively contributing to sustainable development.

“This activity reflects the identity of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram as a center of spiritual enlightenment and intellectual growth. By honoring the Rsi and upholding dharma, we strengthen our moral responsibility to build a more ethical, inclusive, and sustainable society in line with SDGs 2030 and Asta Protas,” the Rector affirmed.

The implementation of Punia Bhakti Rsi Yadnya during Siwaratri further reinforces the role of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram in nurturing spiritual awareness, character development, and community engagement. It is expected that the values embodied in this activity will continue to inspire research, education, and community service programs throughout 2026 and beyond, contributing positively to national development and global sustainability.
