IAHN GDE PUDJA MATARAM AND RBKS PROMOTE DHARMA-BASED DIGITAL LITERACY THROUGH CONTENT CREATOR TRAINING

Mataram — Responding to the growing importance of digital media in shaping public discourse, the Institut Agama Hindu Negeri (IAHN) Gde Pudja Mataram, in collaboration with Rimah Bina Keluarga Sukhinah (RBKS), organized a Content Creator Training as an effort to strengthen media literacy and disseminate Dharma values in the digital era. The activity was held on Friday, 30 January 2026, at the 3rd Floor Meeting Hall of the Rectorate Building, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, and was attended by 100 participants.

The training was officially opened by the Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram and attended by officials within the IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram academic community as well as leaders of Hindu organizations across Lombok. This activity reflects a shared commitment to building positive, ethical, and value-based digital spaces.

In his opening address, the Rector of IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Wayan Wirata, A.Ma., S.E., M.Si., M.Pd., emphasized that social media should be viewed not merely as a source of entertainment, but as a creative space for constructing ideas that are meaningful and beneficial to society.

He stated that content creators are expected to possess a balanced integration of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence, so that the content produced can educate, inspire, and uphold Dharma values in the digital public sphere.

The training presented three competent speakers in their respective fields, namely Mrs. Nurzila Sahir, a content creator; Adeliena Noor Sayyida, a social media specialist; and Mr. Rosidi, a videographer and editor. Participants received comprehensive materials covering content creation strategies, copywriting techniques, video editing, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support creative digital content production.

The Chair of the Organizing Committee, Mrs. Made Sukini, A.Md.Keb., SH, explained that the activity was designed to equip participants with practical and relevant digital skills while maintaining ethical values and cultural sensitivity in content production.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of RBKS, Mrs. Ir. Ni Noman Sutrini Murti, MM, stated that the training was motivated by the increasing number of productive-age individuals who have not been absorbed into the formal employment sector. Therefore, informal and skills-based trainings such as this are considered strategic in empowering communities and opening alternative opportunities in the digital creative economy.

Representing the Head of Hindu Community Guidance (Bimas Hindu) of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Mrs. Sriningsih, S.Ag., M.Pd., as the Hindu Community Guidance Officer of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Mataram City, highlighted that the implementation of the government’s Asta Protas agenda should not rely solely on conventional programs. According to her, digital media can serve as an effective and strategic platform to support and disseminate national priority programs in a broader and more innovative manner.

The activity ran smoothly and was characterized by active participation, warm interaction, and constructive discussions. Through this training, IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram hopes to contribute to the development of competent, creative, and Dharma-oriented content creators who are able to utilize digital media responsibly for the benefit of society.
